The Law Review hosts an annual symposium, directed by a WashU faculty member, that brings together scholars from across the country to discuss and write papers on a central topic or theme.

This Year’s Symposium

The Many Faces of the State

This year’s symposium, “The Many Faces of the State,” will be held November 6 in St. Louis and is directed by Professors Ben Levin (WashU) and Sharon Jacobs (University of California, Berkeley). Participants will present papers examining the structure, function, and limits of government across a range of disciplines and methodologies. Symposium papers will be published in Volume 104, Issue 6, in the summer of 2027.
